How 'Just in Time' Tough Conversations Coaching Works for Teams

70% of blah blah blah

Avoiding Tough Conversations is horrendously expensive: more conflict, unhappy teams, missed opportunities, disengaged employees. And ultimately key staff quitting, or even worse – sabotaging performance.

Having the Tough Conversations without skill can be even worse – sometimes even a total train wreck. This creates more conflict – which gets us back to disengaged employees, sabotaged performance and people quitting.

Having Tough Conversations ARTFULLY leads to happy teams, higher productivity, and people sticking around longer because they are fully engaged, and loving where they work. Plus everyone grows personally and professionally.

My super power is in role-playing tough conversations, so your team member can powerfully and confidently have the conversation, generating a positive outcome.

But they don’t practice the conversation with me. I switch it, and role-play the team member who’s bringing the Tough Conversation. For example, if you need to tell your CEO she’s got the wrong strategy, I’ll be YOU, you’ll be the CEO, and you’ll give me as hard a time as you like, saying all the things you’re worried your CEO might say. And you’ll get to see a completely new way to have the conversation.

  • Opportunity Identification: every time an employee has a problem with another employee, they get 15 minutes with me to translate the problem into a Tough Conversation ready to happen
  • Courage to Act: every time an employee is hesitating on having a TC, they role play it with me, making it less scary or awkward, and gaining the confidence and courage to actually have the conversation now vs postponing it indefinitely.
  • Converse with Skill: every time an employee is about to have a TC, they role play it with me to increase the chances of having it artfully and powerfully for a positive outcome, and reduce the chances of it being a train wreck.

I’ll show them how to:

  • Set a positive intention
  • Get buy in for the conversation
  • Own their experience, speaking inarguably
  • Make a powerful request
  • Check for impact

So Just in Time Team Coaching on Tough Conversations will lead to:

  • More Problems being transformed into conversation opportunities
  • More Tough Conversations happening vs being avoided, and
  • More Positive Outcomes and less train wrecks

Pricing: we’ll work out a monthly retainer that depends on the size of your team, giving your team up to X x 30 minute laser sessions per month.

Engagement: Included are two monthly video conference calls to introduce this resource, then teach skills, share wins, and keep your team engaged.

Your team will subscribe to an Engagement Series of emails, created by me, which will motivate and remind them to use this new resource.

For even higher engagement, each member can be scheduled to do a private 30 minute training session with me, building rapport and trust.

Just in Time: They click on a calendar link to book the soonest available time slot, ideally just when they need it (vs waiting a week for a regular session with their coach).

Recording: They get a confidential recording so they can re-watch, write out a script for their conversation if they like, and if they are feeling brave, even share it with the team as a community resource.

Tracking ROI: I will track the following metrics so we can gauge ROI:

  • Number of problems turned into “tough conversations with a positive outcome”
  • The estimated INCREASE in NUMBER of tough conversations that happen
  • The average IMPROVEMENT in CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS to have the conversation powerfully
  • The average IMPROVEMENT IN OUTCOME (actual outcome vs outcome anticipated before the coaching).

  • Your team had 50% more tough conversations
  • Handled them 50% more skillfully, and
  • Achieved 30% better outcomes

leading to higher productivity, retention, and joy.

That’s what we’re shooting for. Let’s do it.

David's Vision for Companies, and the World: Tough Conversations Coaching

What Makes David So Different?

A former Consulting Actuary to Fortune 100 companies – including Sony Music, Chanel, and Exxon – David left his cushy Park Avenue job 20 years ago to build  the world’s largest coaching business. He became #1 on Google for “life coaching”, serving an audience of 150,000 coaches, and coaching thousands of hours across 12 countries.

Alongside his clients’ successes, David is no stranger to overcoming challenges himself, having overcome a full collapse of his paraglider and a fractured spine, witnessing the death of his sister at age seven, severe anxiety and depression, and a national Gong Show!

He is the author of “Get Paid For Who You Are,” with foreword by Jack Canfield. He was nominated to the exclusive Transformational Leadership Council alongside such thought leaders as Don Miguel Ruiz, John Gray, and Marianne Williamson.

David believes that the tough conversations we avoid, are our doorways to confidence, success, and love. They become the defining moments which shape our world. He coaches high performing entrepreneurs, executives and teams – and now prison inmates –  to create amazing results and deep connectionn. One tough conversation at a time.

"David walks his talk: I admire his willingness to put himself in the fire, and do what it takes to make that next step."

Jack Canfield

"David changed my life. Coaching with him was the best investment I have ever made in myself - both personally and professionally."

Joshua Clifford

"David held my feet to the fire to eliminate half my busy work and decisions - creating more time with my kids! Especially if you're overcommitted and overworked - reach out before it's too late!"
